Developing District Strategies for a More Climate‑Resilient City

Over the next 12 to 18 months, Water Resilient Dundee will develop a suite of District Strategies that build toward a comprehensive, city‑wide approach to managing rainwater, reducing flood risk, and supporting sustainable growth across Dundee.

Lochee District Strategy

The Lochee Drainage Strategy sets out the first steps toward a more sustainable and climate-resilient drainage system for the Lochee area.

Strathmartine Connections

Strathmartine Connections (formerly St Mary’s Drainage Strategy) is a major, multiyear programme designed to improve drainage, enhance local green spaces, reduce flood risk, and strengthen community resilience across the Strathmartine area.

Douglas Connections

Douglas Connections is a landscape‑led regeneration initiative within Water Resilient Dundee. Over the coming year, work will focus on detailed design, community engagement, and phased improvements to streets, parks, and public spaces.

Dighty Restoration

The Dighty Restoration Project is a partnership effort led by SEPA and Dundee City Council aiming to restore the Dighty Water, create accessible blue‑green corridors, and deliver climate‑resilient, community‑focused environmental improvements.

Murraygate

The Murraygate is one of Dundee’s busiest and most historic streets, and it is now at the heart of a major transformation that aims to create a more vibrant, attractive, and climate‑resilient city centre.
